Every weekday the CNBC Investing Club with Jim Cramer releases the Homestretch audio feature in time for the last hour of trading on Wall Street. Here’s today’s edition. Stocks are higher Thursday, building on this week’s earlier gains after the Fed signaled yesterday it could begin cutting rates next year. But the action is mixed as investors are using the Magnificent 7 and other big year-to-date winners as a source of funds to buy stocks of companies that have been crushed by higher interest rates and benefit from a soft landing in the economy. That’s resulting in a bounce in stocks tied to housing like Club holding Stanley Black & Decker (SWK) as well as autos like Ford Motor (F). We’ve been talking about this broadening out of the rally for weeks. It’s possible this rotation can continue. Elsewhere, the Russell 2000 – which is an index of small caps – is significantly outperforming the S & P 500, which has given up its gains since the open. Specifically in the charitable trust, Foot Locker (FL) is trading 7% higher Thursday after it was upgrade to oversight at Piper Sandler. There’ also been a nice catch-up trade for our bank positions in Wells Fargo (EFC) and Morgan Stanley (MS), which are winners of a more dovish Federal Reserve which chose to keep rates steady at its policy meeting yesterday. Lower rates should also thaw the frozen IPO market and further support Morgan Stanley stock higher as it works on more deals. (See here for a full list of the stocks in Jim Cramer’s Charitable Trust.) As a subscriber to the CNBC Investing Club with Jim Cramer, you will receive a trade alert before Jim makes a trade. Jim waits 45 minutes after sending a trade alert before buying or selling a stock in his charitable trust’s portfolio. If Jim has talked about a stock on CNBC TV, he waits 72 hours after issuing the trade alert before executing the trade.
